Ok...the official rule of the GIFT is as follow:
GIFT 2008
GOLF INTERNATIONAL FORUM TOURNAMENT
G.C. DEI LAGHI , 25-26-27 JULY 2008
1. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Tournament is played under:
i) the Rules of Golf approved by the R&A Rules Ltd. (edition 2008-2011)
ii) Tournament condition and the Local Rules 2008 emanated by the F.I.G. (Italian Golfing Federation)
iii) Specific Tournament Condition of the Golf International Forum Tournament;
iv) Any Condition or Local Rules emanated by the Tournament Committee and under the following conditions.
2. ADMISSION
The Tournament is reserved to players belonging to the European Internet Forums being part of this initiative.
The Players must be accredited on the first day of the tournament to the Acceptance Desk to pay the Playing fee and to collect the ID Badge for the whole Tournament
3. ENROLLMENT
Open until 17th July 2008.
Maximum Limit of players: 132.
4.REGISTRATION
Enrolment could be made through the form on the Nextgolf Homepage; web site

5. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation and withdrawal from the Tournament is available sending a communication to the Tournament Organization by an e-mail to the following address (
business@nextgolf.it). The first instalment of 100 Euros will be return if the cancellation is made before 17 July 2008
6. ENROLMENT FEE
The enrolment fee is set at 200 Euros. For the fellows of the Golf dei Laghi the fee is set at 70 Euros.
Payment methods are available on the Enrolment Form
The Enrolment fee gives the possibility to make a Practice round on 24th July 2008 and comprises the dinner that will be made on the evening of 26th July 2008.
7. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
A tournament Committee will be arranged and will be communicated to all the participants before the tournament start. On the course there will be three referees of the F.I.G. (Italian Golfing Federation) and two observers.
8. FORMS OF PLAY
Singles
54 holes medal, scratch category and three levelled categories (0-12.4; 12.5-18.4; 18.5-36)
25th July: 1st round (18 holes Medal)
26th July: 2nd round (18 holes Medal)
27th July: 3rd round (18 holes Medal).
The Third Category (18.5 – 36.0) will play the whole Tournament under Stableford system
Teams
The Teams will be formed by four players each, it’s allowed to form teams made by only three players. These type of teams will not be allowed to discard any result.
Each Forum can line up an unlimited number of teams giving informations on these teams at the Hospitality Desk during the check-in procedure or sending an e-mail (
business@nextgolf.it) before the beginning of the Tournament.
Each team will nominate a Captain and will communicate the nomination to the Organization and the Tournament Committee.
25th July: 1st round (18 holes Stableford; 3 scores out of 4)
26th July: 2nd round (18 holes Stableford; 3 scores out of 4)
27th July: 3rd round (18 holes Stableford; 3 scores out of 4).
9. PRIZES
Singles Tournament
Scratch Category: 1st 2nd 3rd Places
First Category: 1st 2nd 3rd Places
Second Category: 1st 2nd 3rd Places
Third Category: 1st 2nd 3rd Places
Teams Tournament
Gross: 1st 2nd 3rd Teams
Levelled: 1st 2nd 3rd Teams
Special Prizes will be awarded for Driving Contest , Nearest To The Pin and Putting Green Contest Putting Green.
Singles and Team Tournament prizes can be cumulated, and the awarding order is as follows:
Singles:
1st Scratch;
1st Net of Category;
2nd Scratch;
2nd Net of Category;
3rd Scratch;
3rd Net of Category;
Teams:
1st Scratch;
1st Net;
2nd Scratch;
2nd Net of Category;
3rd Scratch;
3rd Net of Category;
10. TIED FOR THE LEAD AND PLAY-OFFS
In the case of tied of the leadership fpr the 1st place on the Singles – Scratch Category there will be an immediate hole-by-hole play-off.
For any other place on the classification will be followed the F.I.G. rules on the tied positions
For the Team Tournament in case of tied for the lead the calculation will be made following the rules of residuals.
11. TEE TIMES
On the first two days of the Tournament (25th and 26th July) the tee times are those decided by the Committee and communicated to the players before the beginning of the Tournament.
The tee times for the Final Round (27th July) will follow the Inverse Order Ranking rule.
The last five tee times will follow the Scratch ranking rule.
12. LOCAL RULES AND AMENDMENTS TO THIS DOCUMENT .
For any issue or situation not contemplated in this document the players must follow the Local Rules of Golf dei Laghi that will be distributed before the beginning of the Tournament.
The Committee reserve the rights to bring about any amendment to this document to grant the best results for this Tournament.
